And I loved all the secondary characters. Emilia's light was perfectly balanced by Aiden's darkness. Some of her decisions were hare-brained and idiotic but they also ended up saving her. She was sweet, stubborn and fierce when needed. I particularly enjoyed Emilia's character. "How can life go back to the way it was when we're being chased by faceless ghosts?"īoth Emilia and Aiden's character were complex and interesting. While there were some moments where the plot seemed impractical, they don't take away from the overall intended storyline of the book. I would tell you to prepare yourself emotionally because there are some tough moments in there as well as some sweet loving happy times. The plot takes you on a wild and incredible ride jam-packed full of action, suspense and romance. After the epic cliffhanger at the end of 'Aiden', I was eager to start this book. In my opinion, it was even better than the first book. This book was a surprise to me like so many others. Swan is the second installment in 'The Emden' series and it was great. We persevered, even as the world was trying to rip us apart, we never strayed, and we never lost sight of what was important.
